Janelle Rominski is an award-winning photographer with over 20 years of experience specializing in event, portrait, and live music photography. Based in Gurnee, Illinois, her passion for photography began early, sparked by her father lending her his first professional digital camera.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television Production with a minor in Theatre from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. While in college, Janelle earned a third-place National Student Emmy Award for her work on alt.news 26:46 (PBS, 2005). She also served as the production photographer for the Emmy Award-winning PBS special Violent Femmes 40th Anniversary with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (2024). Additionally, her travel photo from Peru won the Chicago Travel and Adventure Show photo contest, selected by Travel Channel’s Samantha Brown from 165 entries (2014).

Janelle’s work has been featured in USA Today, MSN, the Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and nationally on the Music Choice TV rock channel. Her photography has also appeared in books by various authors. She is the senior staff photographer for The Rave/Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee and has served as a tour photographer for international recording artists in Argentina, Japan, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Her portfolio includes renowned performers such as Shakira, Ozzy Osbourne, Bad Bunny, Luke Bryan and P!nk.

Dedicated to giving back, Janelle volunteers her photography services to several nonprofit organizations, including Lake County Honor Flight, participating in 17 trips to Washington, D.C., Visit Lake County, the Gurnee and Waukegan Chambers of Commerce, and the GOA Regional Business Association.

In addition to photography, Janelle spent nearly 20 years in radio as a promotions director, on-air personality, and voice-over artist. A passionate traveler, she has visited 42 countries and 42 U.S. states and is currently pursuing her private pilot’s license.
